Job summary

Deputy Director for Special Populations leads disability housing programs within the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development's Multifamily Housing Unit. The role manages specialized rental assistance programs including Section 811 PRA, MFP Bridge Subsidy, and other initiatives, while overseeing program utilization and coordinating with government agencies, developers, and advocacy groups.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
At least 4 years of professional experience in rental and assisted housing or development with demonstrated record of analyzing risks and negotiating complex real estate transactions.
2 years of general supervisory experience.
Experience administering Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program or similar affordable housing development programs.
Experience managing, evaluating, or auditing rental assistance programs such as Section 811 or other disability/supportive housing rental subsidy programs.
Experience with local, state, and federal policies affecting affordable rental housing.

Responsibilities

Lead disability housing programs within the Multifamily Housing Unit and oversee program utilization.
Coordinate with government agencies, developers, and advocacy groups; conduct research on housing strategies; manage complex real estate negotiations.
