Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a strategic operations leader to own the People Ops & Tech portfolio, delivering visibility, risk management, and execution across 50+ projects. You will partner with executives, design an auditable operating rhythm, and drive AI-enabled improvements in work management and reporting.

You will build dashboards, set up controls, and ensure timely, accurate information reaches leaders while enabling faster decision making and cross-team coordination at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in business operations, program or portfolio management, technology operations, or a related field, including experience supporting a senior leadership team.
• Experience designing and running operating rhythms, status reporting, and risk, issue, and escalation management in a large, complex organization.
• Experience in portfolio and work management practices across agile and non‑agile delivery models.
• Experience managing or overseeing large portfolios of concurrent projects and ongoing service operations.
• Experience in HR technology, HR operations, shared services, or employee service delivery.
• Hands‑on experience with work management and reporting tools (for example Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Asana, ServiceNow, Workday, Power BI, or Databricks).
• Strong AI literacy, including a working understanding of how AI tools can improve work management, reporting, quality assurance, and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Run the business operations engine. Own the organization's operating rhythm: weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, leadership team cadences, planning cycles, and executive reporting.
• Own status, risk, and issue management. Establish and run consistent mechanisms for status reporting, risk and issue tracking, dependency management, and escalation across all teams.
• Modernize work and portfolio management across the HR Tech and service delivery portfolio. Design and implement a unified approach to intake, prioritization, capacity planning, demand management, and delivery tracking that covers 50+ concurrent enhancement projects and ongoing service work.
• Create a single source of truth. Build integrated dashboards and reporting that give leadership real‑time, accurate visibility into portfolio health, delivery performance, service metrics, and operational risk.
• Build audit and quality mechanisms. Partner with product, data, and service teams to design controls that detect data inaccuracies, system breaks, process failures, and service defects before employees experience them.
• Apply AI to operations. Identify and implement AI‑enabled approaches to work management, reporting, risk detection, and service operations.
