Job summary

Sedgwick seeks a Sr. Claims Specialist, Professional Liability for a remote US-based position. The role analyzes complex E&O, D&O, EPL claims, leads investigations, and coordinates defense while managing costs and client expectations.

Responsibilities include negotiation, reserves management, and collaborating with attorneys and clients to ensure compliant, high-quality resolutions. A six-year claims background is required along with relevant licenses and a bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.
• Six (6) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Licenses as required.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes complex or technically difficult professional liability claims by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure; manages claims through action plans to resolution.
• Conducts or assigns full investigation and provides report of investigation pertaining to new events, claims and legal actions.
• Negotiates claim settlements up to designated authority level.
• Calculates and assigns reserves; monitors reserve adequacy throughout claim life.
• Recommends settlement strategies; proposes structured settlements as necessary to maximize recovery.
• Coordinates legal defense by assigning attorneys and reviewing invoices; monitors counsel for compliance with client guidelines.
