Job description

Senior Professional Engineer, Structural

We are seeking a Senior Professional Engineer, Structural (7 - 12 years of experience) to join our client's team in the Northwest division. This division focuses on creating inclusive, sustainable, and welcoming facilities and transportation infrastructure to support community engagement and improve quality of life.

As part of the team, you will collaborate with Civil, Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural professionals to design civil projects. There is also an opportunity to grow into a Project Manager role, overseeing technical, quality, and financial aspects from conception to construction.

This position requires residing within commuting distance of downtown Seattle and the ability to travel occasionally.

Work Environment

Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days WFH per week

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit for facilities across the Pacific Northwest.
  2. Participate in the full project lifecycle, including design calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  3. Engage with clients to understand needs and provide solutions.
  4. Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication.
  5. Assist with structural system layout and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  6. Conduct clash detection reviews and resolve conflicts.
  7. Perform occasional field verifications of existing facilities.
  8. Develop project management skills by overseeing various aspects of projects.
  9. Manage projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
  10. Collaborate with engineering and architectural professionals for cohesive project delivery.
  11. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license in Washington.
  • At least 5 years of progressive design experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and RISA 3D or Ram Structural System.
  • Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and precast design.
  • Experience with building systems, construction methods, and documentation.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for job-related activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or additional certifications.
  • Multiple state PE licenses and SE registration.
  • Experience with government, civic, educational, or industrial projects.
  • Aspiring or experienced project manager.
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary: $130,000 - $150,000 annually, reflecting 7-12 years of experience.
