Job summary

UASI seeks a Senior Consultant: Profee Auditor Quality and Education to perform professional fee coding audits across multiple specialties. This remote role requires independent work, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate audit findings clearly.

The ideal candidate holds AHIMA or AAPC certification and 3–5 years of hands-on profee coding and medical record auditing, with strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and CMS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC/CPMA/CCS-P/COC)
• 3–5 years hands-on profee coding and medical record auditing
• Experience across multiple specialties (ED, Hospitalist, Primary Care, etc.)
• Auditing knowledge: CPT, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, E/M, CMS guidelines
• Knowledge of coding guidelines, CMS requirements, NCCI edits
• Ability to translate audit findings into education and coaching
• Experience in peer review/QA and calibration activities
• Familiarity with EHRs (EPIC, Cerner) and secure file transfer per HIPAA

Responsibilities

• Perform profee coding audits on diverse medical records
• Translate audit findings into actionable education for coders
• Provide one-on-one coaching and feedback to internal staff
• Support peer review, calibration, and QA activities to ensure consistency
• Research complex coding scenarios using official guidelines and references
• Communicate audit results clearly to leadership and teams
