Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Profee Auditing Specialist to conduct professional fee coding audits and provide detailed rationale for coding changes. This fully remote role emphasizes regulatory awareness, education of coders, and high accuracy, with a flexible schedule to fit a home-based workspace.

The position targets candidates with CPC and 5+ years of auditing experience, familiarity with Epic and Cerner, and a commitment to excellence in healthcare coding workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Professional Fee coding and/or auditing.
• CPC (required)
• CPMA (preferred)
• Maintain 95% accuracy rate
• Experience with various software including Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs

Responsibilities

• Performs Professional Fee coding audits of medical records and abstracts using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers and references.
• Provides rationale with references and location of documentation for any changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and resolution.
• Provides coder education via auditing process.
• Act in a professional, efficient and positive manner.
• Adhere to AHIMA's code of ethics.
• Demonstrates customer-service focus and professionalism.
• Handles high complexity of work and decision making.
• Exhibits strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
