Job summary

UASI is seeking a Senior Consultant: Profee Auditor Quality and Education to independently audit professional fee medical records and provide expert feedback. This remote role demands strong auditing and coding knowledge, across multiple specialties, with the ability to educate and mentor internal coders while aligning with CMS guidelines.

The ideal candidate holds AHIMA/APAC credentials and has 3–5 years of hands-on profee coding and auditing experience in a hospital-affiliated environment,

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA or AAPC certification as CPC/CPMA/CCS-P/COC.
• 3–5 years of hands-on professional fee coding and medical record auditing in multi-specialty or hospital setting.
• Experience across multiple specialties including ED, Hospitalist, Primary Care, Cardiology, Neurology, OB/GYN and others.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, E/M leveling and procedural coding; familiarity with CMS rules and NCCI edits.
• Able to research complex coding guidance and support audit findings with references.
• Capable of educating coders and providing feedback to improve quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional fee coding audits across varied records to assess accuracy and compliance.
• Translate audit findings into actionable education and coaching for internal coders and auditors.
• Support quality assurance activities, calibration, and peer review to promote consistency.
• Research and apply Official Coding Guidelines and CMS documents to audit conclusions.
