Job summary

UFG Insurance seeks a Sr Production Underwriter - Middle Market to join the Midwest Region. You will underwrite middle market, manage accounts, and mentor teammates. The role supports remote work with preference for candidates in the St. Louis or Kansas City areas.

You will lead complex risk assessments, price exposures, and negotiate terms within delegated authority. Travel to meet agencies and insureds is expected as part of growing a profitable book of business.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree preferred.
• Completion of or working towards AU, CIC and/or CPCU designations preferred.
• 5+ years commercial lines underwriting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Profitably underwrite complex new and renewal business within delegated authority and regulatory guidelines.
• Mentor and train team members; serve as subject matter expert for complex risks.
• Develop and maintain relationships with producers and agencies; grow a profitable book of business.
• Represent UFG in marketplace, communicating capabilities in underwriting, risk control and claims.
