Job summary

UFG Insurance is seeking a Sr Production Underwriter - Middle Market to join the Midwest Region. This remote role targets the St. Louis or Kansas City metro areas, handling multi-line, multi-industry underwriting for middle-market clients.

The role demands 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor others while achieving profit and premium plans across assigned book of business. Collaborative work with internal teams and producers is essential.

Qualifications

5+ years commercial lines underwriting experience.
AU/CIC/CPCU designations preferred.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Profitably underwrite complex new and renewal business through risk selection, pricing, contractual integrity, and account management.
Demonstrate critical thinking in assessing risk and identifying exposures and controls.
Price risk commensurate with exposures and controls.
Set appropriate terms and conditions to deliver a profitable portfolio.
Document files with underwriting thought process and rationale.
Mentor and train team members and resolve escalated issues.
Represent field underwriting in key corporate initiatives and projects.
Support deployment of technical underwriting training/content.
