Job summary

UFG Insurance is seeking a Sr Production Underwriter - Middle Market for the Western Region. This fully remote role targets the Bay Area, CA, with travel per book of business and manager-determined options.

You will underwrite multi-line middle market accounts, mentor staff, and drive profitable growth through broker partnerships. The role requires extensive underwriting experience, strong leadership, and a strategic approach to risk and pricing.

Qualifications

• AU/CIC/CPCU designations preferred.
• 5+ years commercial lines underwriting experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Profitably underwrite complex new and renewal business with risk selection and account management.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in risk assessment and exposures.
• Price risk commensurate with exposures and controls.
• Set terms and conditions to deliver a profitable portfolio.
• Mentor and train team members and provide guidance.
• Represent UFG in the marketplace and collaborate with internal partners.
• Develop and maintain relationships with producers and agencies.
