Job summary

Onto Innovation in Milpitas, CA, is seeking an experienced production planner to coordinate materials, forecast changes, and drive the Subassembly Production Schedule from start to finish.

The role requires 4+ years planning, a BS in supply chain, Oracle EBS experience, and strong ERP/MRP knowledge; you will work cross-functionally to adapt to changing schedules and ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related planning experience in a low volume, high value, custom configured capital equipment manufacturing environment.
• BS/BS in Supply Chain Mgmt. or related field.
• Oracle EBS experience strongly preferred
• An aptitude for technical product configuration, dates, numbers, and attention to detail
• Strong tolerance of ever-changing schedules, frequent reprioritization
• Thrives on fast-paced change and seeks to adapt to customer preferences and volatile market conditions.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement in all aspects of work and has the initiative to develop and implement solutions to problems encountered.
• Strong aptitude and competence for all popular business software applications.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, standard business practices, and production scheduling methodology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate allocation of materials and plan for future periods.
• Review current plan and implement team decisions via the Subassembly Production Schedule.
• Update schedule based on forecast changes, tool configurations, inventory, and labor availability.
• Incorporate ECN changes into existing work orders.
• Communicate production plan changes and potential work stoppage issues.
• Proactively initiate solutions to scheduling, materials, and manufacturing challenges.
• Notify purchasing staff when shortages need to be expedited.
• Provide input on item master settings such as lead-time, period of supply, safety stock.
