Job summary

MP RPO is seeking an experienced Production Planner for a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment in Needham, MA. The role focuses on converting demand into executable schedules using material availability, capacity, WIP, and lead times, with strong ERP/MRP and Epicor knowledge preferred.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in production planning or scheduling and 7+ years in manufacturing, and will coordinate across Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on production planning, scheduling, or materials planning.
• 7+ years overall manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ERP/MRP knowledge; Epicor experience preferred.
• Knowledge of scheduling, BOMs, routings, inventory, capacity, and lead times.
• Strong Excel, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and drive cross-functional action.
• Comfortable working on the shop floor and using data to improve plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain executable production schedules based on demand and constraints.
• Use ERP/MRP to create, release, schedule, and monitor jobs with accurate dates.
• Review demand, backlog, WIP, inventory, and shop load to set priorities.
• Identify shortages, capacity constraints, and delays; coordinate recovery actions.
• Determine material requirements and dates; work with Purchasing on POs.
• Maintain credible plans and flag risks; suggest achievable dates.
• Coordinate priorities with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service.
• Spend time on the floor to validate assumptions and resolve issues.
• Maintain inventory levels while minimizing excess material.
• Support improvements in on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and efficiency.
