Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Houston, TX, is seeking a Senior Production Planner to forecast, coordinate, and plan production to meet customer demand in our Bearings Plus facility. You will manage the Rough Cut Capacity Planning and Master Production Schedule, aligning labor, materials and equipment to demand while optimizing assets.

Responsibilities include reviewing sales orders, releasing work to the floor, and maintaining ERP parameters to keep inventory levels efficient.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in production scheduling in machine shops or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with Rough Cut Capacity Planning and Master Production Schedule execution.
• Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships across departments.
• Mechanical aptitude to understand Bearings Plus products.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Office; familiarity with ERP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide production forecasting, coordination, and planning based on customer demand.
• Manage Rough Cut Capacity Planning & Capacity Management; ensure successful Master Production Schedule execution.
• Align labor, material, and machinery to demand while optimizing asset utilization.
• Review sales order information and schedule manufacture/repair orders with due dates.
• Set ERP settings and inventory policies to improve flow and inventory levels.
• Provide analysis on capacity and material constraints and drive improvements.
• Drive inventory turns, reduce cycle times, and improve on-time delivery.
• Interface with multiple groups to determine product forecast and delivery capabilities.
• Develop and present plan reports; explain variances and improvement methods.
• Coordinate with customer service on order status and respond to emergencies.
