Job summary

Tutor Intelligence in Watertown, MA is seeking a senior hardware engineer to lead Production Engineering. You will design and improve the environment for manufacturing high-quality robots, mentor engineers, and own test systems from component test through FAT and end-of-line.

This role requires hands-on hardware ownership, debugging on the factory floor, and collaboration across manufacturing, software, and deployment teams to scale production while managing cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 8+ years of senior hardware engineering experience.
• Strong electrical fundamentals including schematics, scopes, and measurements.
• Experience driving DFM/DFT and design-for-manufacturing in production.
• Proven track record taking hardware from development to volume production (NPI).

Responsibilities

• Lead Production Engineering technically and mentor engineers.
• Debug robot hardware on the floor across PCBAs, power, sensors, actuators and interfaces.
• Own test systems from component test to FAT and end-of-line testing.
• Drive recurring failures to root cause and permanent corrective action.
• Collaborate with design engineering for DFX and early manufacturing input.
• Define MES data traceability and production readiness criteria.
