Job summary

Tutor Intelligence, Inc. is seeking a Production Engineer to own ECOs from approval to cut-in, coordinating with Hardware, Supply Chain, and Field Service. You will write clear instructions, train technicians, and ensure a smooth factory transition for each change.

Based in Watertown, MA with up to 25% travel, you’ll drive process improvements, contribute to MES/PLM tooling, and support rapid scaling of robotics manufacturing to 1,000+ units.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, Electrical or related engineering discipline
• 3+ years in manufacturing/production/process engineering for electromechanical hardware
• Hands-on experience implementing ECOs/ECNs, effectivity, BOM changes, cut-ins and material disposition
• Experience writing work instructions used by technicians and training on the floor
• CAD experience (Onshape or SolidWorks) and reading drawings, GD&T, schematics and wiring diagrams
• Experience in MES/ERP/PLM systems (ION, Arena, SAP, Oracle or similar)
• Works well in early-stage hardware environments and helps build systems

Responsibilities

• ECO implementation from approval to cut-in, including MBOM updates and verification
• Represent Manufacturing at Change Review Board and assess build impact, cost, inventory, scrap and schedule
• Plan cut-ins with Supply Chain and Materials, decide on purchases and disposition of existing inventory
• Write and maintain clear, visual work instructions; ensure the right way is the easy way
• Train technicians on changes before line deployment and verify execution on the floor
• Partner with Field Service for retrofits on deployed robots
• Own line performance metrics: yield, cycle time, scrap and rework; drive improvements
• Provide early DFM feedback to Hardware Engineering for producibility
• Help shape ECO and PLM tooling that connects Onshape, ION and factory floor, using AI tools
