Job summary

Tutor Intelligence in Watertown, MA, seeks a Production Engineering leader to own the transition of robot designs from prototype to mass production. You will lead the team, set priorities, and stay hands-on on the floor debugging and refining processes.

You will drive the testing strategy, oversee line changes, and partner with hardware engineers to ensure buildable, testable, and cost-efficient production systems as production scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering (Master’s a plus).
• Proven experience leading engineers, setting priorities and developing people.
• Deep hands-on hardware experience designing, integrating and debugging complex electromechanical systems.
• Strong electrical fundamentals; read schematics, use scopes/meters, and isolate problems.
• Experience taking hardware from prototype to volume production and building production test systems.
• Experience managing engineering change on an active production line.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production engineering team; set priorities and assign work across engineers, technicians and contractors.
• Grow and mentor the team; shape a scalable structure for increasing production.
• Own the path from prototype through pilot builds to volume production, including tooling and station design.
• Oversee test strategy from bench tests to line tests and final bring-up.
• Own engineering change reviews and ensure changes ship with quality and output.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and deployment teams to ensure designs are buildable, testable and cost‑effective.
