Placements24 is seeking a Senior Well Operations Engineer for our client in Welkom, Free State. The role focuses on safe, efficient execution of drilling, completion, and intervention activities, with leadership across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in well operations engineering, including drilling and completions.
• Proven experience in planning and executing complex well operations.
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, well control principles, and equipment.
• Experience with coiled tubing, wireline, and other intervention techniques.

Responsabilités

• Plan, design, and execute drilling, completion, and workover programs.
• Develop well programs, including casing design, cementing, stimulation, and equipment selection.
• Supervise drilling and completion operations on-site, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Manage service company performance and contract execution.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and final well reports, documenting operational progress and challenges.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for well operations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor well performance and provide technical support for production optimization.
• Manage well operations budget and control costs effectively.
• Participate in post-job reviews to identify lessons learned and improvements.
