Job summary

Astemo Americas, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Production/Process Engineer to lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives in automotive manufacturing. You will drive OEE improvements, bottleneck removal, and line performance through data-driven problem solving with a cross-functional team.

The role emphasizes NPI/automation, AI technologies, and collaboration with the Corporate PE team to ensure SOP readiness and program launches. Strong expertise in AIAG standards and process validation is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or other Engineering field.
• Experience: 7+ years in automotive manufacturing, preferably Tier 1 supplier environment.
• Knowledge/Abilities: Strong leadership and project management; effective cross-functional and global-team communication; familiarity with AIAG standards (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, STW).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to drive CFT RCA and countermeasures.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma initiatives to improve OEE, throughput, uptime, and cycle time with cross-functional teams.
• Drive NPI, automation, and advanced engineering efforts including automation, robotics, vision systems, and AI tech; support PFMEA, Control Plans, and Standard Work for new products.
• Collaborate with Corporate PE team on APQP, PPAP, and Run-at-Rate activities; ensure manufacturing readiness for SOP.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer requirements; lead 8D, 5-Why, FTA, and Fishbone investigations.
• Provide supervision and technical leadership within PE Department and across Cross-Functional Team; interface with OEM customers and key suppliers.
