Astec, Inc. is seeking a Primary Process Owner to partner across manufacturing, quality, OpEx and safety to develop safe, efficient methods. You will identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs using Kaizen, lean tools and methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment with understanding of heavy machinery manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of machine shop operations/processes.
• Knowledge of LEAN methods used in manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of metal-cutting processes (punch, plasma, flame).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand engineering symbols.

Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, and recommends improvements in manufacturing methods through new processes and modifications.
• Implements process improvements through time studies, process mapping, value-stream mapping, spaghetti mapping and workload balancing, with cross-functional teams.
• Uses lean tools to achieve safety and productivity improvements (reduce cycle-time, scrap, inventory, etc.).
• Facilitates continuous improvement and coordinates lean training for all employees.
• Plans space, material routing, and tooling to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Performs capacity analysis and cost estimation for production planning.
• Maintains process work instructions and assembly tooling arising from design changes.
