Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Manufacturing in North Alabama is seeking a Production Control Planner/Scheduler III to manage and lead production control across multiple programs and sites. You will drive schedules, monitor work orders, and mentor junior planners to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of production planning, scheduling, or warehousing with degree
• 3+ years experience in production planning, scheduling, or warehousing with degree
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Deltek Costpoint preferred)
• Experience interpreting and executing MRP action messages in an ERP system
• Demonstrated success in managing production schedules in a defense/aerospace environment
• Ability to influence outcomes across functions in a matrixed environment
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
• Must reside in or relocate to Huntsville / North Alabama area

Responsibilities

• Lead production planning across multiple projects balancing capacity, materials, and schedule requirements
• Monitor and control work order execution; resolve shortages, engineering changes, and priority conflicts
• Interpret, prioritize, and execute MRP action messages to adjust procurement, rescheduling, and work order release decisions
• Develop and maintain production schedules, Line of Balance charts, and milestone tracking
• Provide production control expertise in cross-functional meetings with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain
• Ensure ERP data accuracy (Deltek Costpoint preferred) for all assigned programs
• Generate reports, dashboards, and status updates for leadership and program stakeholders
• Mentor Production Control Planner I/II team members and provide training
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for planning processes, KPIs, and reporting tools
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and government regulations
