Job summary

bpx energy is seeking a Senior Production Systems Engineer to advance data-driven solutions for US onshore operations. You will partner with multiple teams to translate field challenges into software products and process improvements.

Responsibilities include building robust Python/SQL applications in the AWS cloud, establishing CI/CD, and creating insightful dashboards with Power BI or Streamlit. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of oil and gas industry experience preferred, especially Petroleum Engineering-related.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL for data-intensive applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
• Competency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Dagster; Palantir experience a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations, Optimization, Interventions, and other teams to identify opportunities for improvement and develop data-driven solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy applications using Python, SQL, and Snowflake in AWS cloud environment.
• Champion best practices for software development including CI/CD and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Technology and Production as a product owner for in-house solutions.
• Build reporting tools and dashboards using Power BI or Streamlit to enable data-driven decisions.
• Leverage AI tools to facilitate analysis and outcomes.
