Job summary

bp energy is seeking a Senior Development Systems Engineer to join the Corporate Land team. This individual contributor will build scalable automation, data, and AI-enabled solutions while aligning architecture and roadmaps.

The role requires strong hands-on engineering, ability to partner with non-technical stakeholders, and delivery in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid office/remote work is supported in the United States.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
7+ years delivering complex data/software/automation solutions.
Strong Python and SQL with well-tested code.
Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir and cloud data platforms.
Knowledge of CI/CD, APIs, data governance and security.

Responsibilities

Serve as senior technical partner translating business needs into scalable solutions.
Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of automation and data products.
Build data pipelines and analytical tools across Snowflake/Databricks/Palantir.
Apply engineering standards for quality, testing, observability, security, deployment.
Own complex workstreams and influence roadmap based on value and feasibility.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver iteratively.
Contribute to solution design reviews and coach analysts/business users.
Create docs and training materials to enable adoption and ownership.
