Job summary

Landing Point is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and evolve end-to-end data pipelines and data platforms. You will own production data systems, monitor incidents, and translate business requirements into scalable architectures.

The role focuses on modernizing legacy data processes toward secure, cloud-based solutions, with mentoring of junior engineers and collaboration across stakeholders. Requirements include 4+ years in data engineering, advanced SQL, Python, and cloud experience

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional data engineering or related experience.
• Advanced SQL with complex joins, transformations, and validation.
• Python or equivalent language for data processing and automation.
• Experience with AWS or major cloud platforms and data storage concepts.
• Experience with data quality checks, observability, and governance.
• Hybrid work environment with one day in the office, US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and evolution of end-to-end data pipelines and platform capabilities.
• Own production data systems; monitor, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Translate business and technical requirements into architecture and deliverables.
• Design scalable ETL/ELT workflows and ensure data delivery from sources.
• Define and improve standards for data quality, testing, and governance.
• Review architecture, PRs, and changes to improve reliability and performance.
• Lead modernization of legacy data processes to secure, automated solutions.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing and code reviews.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to support long-term data strategy.
