Job summary

athenahealth is seeking a Product Operations, Senior Associate- Patient Experience to help shape how Product Operations drives product delivery and governance for the athenaOne portfolio, focusing on patient mobile apps, messaging, telehealth, and related workflows.

This Belfast, ME-based role partners with product teams to support feature execution, improve operating clarity, and advance AI-enabled product features with measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in product management, product operations, or a related field.
• Experience with patient engagement workflows, scheduling management, digital patient communication, and patient-facing healthcare experiences preferred.
• Experience with AI tools such as Claude, GPT, Codex, or similar tools.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI and automation tools in daily work to improve productivity and decision-making.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
• Healthcare technology experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers to support feature delivery from idea through general availability.
• Surface risks, trends, and portfolio insights to inform decision-making.
• Coordinate cross-team and portfolio dependencies.
• Support alpha, beta, and release readiness activities for AI-enabled features.
• Help validate use cases, assess risk, and prepare customer-facing materials.
• Analyze portfolio data to identify risks, tradeoffs, and opportunities.
• Communicate recommendations to support product prioritization.
• Hold teams accountable for measuring business and user outcomes.
• Use AI tools to summarize information and draft analysis to improve execution.
• Identify recurring issues and provide guidance to reduce ambiguity around roles and data.
