Job summary

Verygoodsecurity seeks a technically adept Product Manager to lead the evolution of payments and banking technology. You will translate complex problems into API-first solutions, coordinate across banks, processors, and engineering teams, and drive strategic roadmaps with rigorous technical standards.

You will influence payments messaging, processor integration, and security/compliance initiatives, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, developer-friendly products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in payments technology as a software engineer, product manager, or related functions.
• Experience launching initiatives involving designing and building APIs, observability, enterprise authentication systems, and other developer-focused tech.
• Deep experience in banking/payments gateways interacting with networks or processors (AS/400, ISO8583, ISO20022).
• Strong opinions on software architecture and systems that can be configured for implementations.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication for technical docs and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Define technical requirements and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Lead complex multi-continent rollout projects to modernize banking and payment workflows.
• Design a developer-friendly interface for payments messaging across ISO formats and protocols.
• Integrate with existing VGS platforms and drive technical rigor from the ground up.
