Job summary

Amcor in Chicago, IL seeks a Lead Project Engineer/Manager to plan new products and improvements, balancing cost, schedules and resources across multiple disciplines. You will provide technical leadership, coordinate across engineering, quality and manufacturing teams, and manage budgets for projects ranging from $50K to $1M.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 8+ years in injection/blow molding, travel about 50%, and strong skills in SPC, CAD, MS Project, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; packaging discipline preferred.
• 8+ years of experience with injection and blow molding equipment, tooling and processing.
• Deep technical knowledge in the packaging industry and understanding of trends.
• Travel 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple high-profile projects with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical leadership and coordinate across engineering, QA, and manufacturing.
• Communicate clearly in written and verbal form to stakeholders.
• Develop, implement and track resource plans for projects.
• Manage internal and external customers and project budgets.
• Understand SPC and quality practices to drive data-informed decisions.
• Oversee teams not directly reporting to you and apply budgeting discipline.
