Job summary

Headway is seeking Senior and Staff Product Designers to own the patient experience. The role demands craft, strong product instincts, deep customer obsession, and fluency in an AI-native prototyping environment where code-based prototyping is core.

Senior designers bring 5+ years of experience with end-to-end ownership; staff designers bring 8+ years and influence how the team operates. Both collaborate with PMs, engineers, and researchers to ship meaningful solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product design for software products.
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end experiences.
• Strong user research and storytelling skills.
• Experience with AI-native prototyping and experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Own the patient product experience end to end from framing to launch.
• Be the primary design voice on the team.
• Prototype and test ideas quickly with AI tools.
• Define patterns, behaviors, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and researchers.
• Shape scope and priority of built features.
• Focus on moments in the patient journey: finding a provider, understanding benefits, booking, staying engaged.
• Run experiments with clear success metrics and measure conversion/retention.
