Job summary

Headway is hiring Senior and Staff Product Designers to own the patient experience with AI-native workflows. Designers will prototype with Claude Code and Cursor, partner with PMs, engineers, and researchers, and influence the patient journey from discovery to ongoing care.

Senior designers bring 5+ years of product design experience and a track record of end-to-end ownership; Staff designers bring 8+ years and leadership across 0→1 and scale work, shaping the team and practice.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience with strong craft and measurable impact.
• Experience designing consumer or patient-facing products where experience quality affects help-seeking.
• Fluency with AI prototyping tools and treating AI as core to work.
• Mentor other designers and contribute to design system and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the patient product experience end to end from framing to launch.
• Prototype and test ideas quickly using Claude Code, Cursor, or AI tools.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to shape scope and priority.
• Design for key moments in the patient journey: finding a provider, understanding benefits, booking, staying in care.
• Run experiments with clear success metrics and learn from negative results.
• Contribute to Helix design system and share AI prompts and patterns.
