Job summary

Mudflap is seeking a data science leader to partner with Product, Engineering, Operations and Leadership to drive strategic product decisions through analytics, experimentation, and machine learning.

You will design and analyze A/B tests, develop predictive models, build data products, and uncover insights that influence product strategy and business outcomes. The role includes mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and driving scalable data science practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields.
• Strong statistical knowledge and experience designing experiments (A/B testing, cohort analysis, causal inference).
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation, modeling, and automation.
• Excellent communication skills—ability to present complex insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in at least one of the domains: risk, growth/marketing, or product analytics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end machine learning projects from problem formulation through production deployment, including model development, validation, A/B testing, and performance monitoring.
• Drive data-driven decision making across cross-functional partnerships and translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts and establish best practices.
• Own experimentation strategy and translate test results into actionable product improvements that impact key metrics.
