Job summary

Smithfield Foods in the United States is seeking a Sr. Distribution PSM Manager to lead our Process Safety Management program, developing and implementing strategies that keep operations safe and compliant.

You’ll ensure accurate emergency documentation and maintain full compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. This role partners with plant personnel, oversees audits and PHA reviews, drives process improvements, and leads root‑cause analyses for incidents involving ammonia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of PSM management experience in manufacturing.
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement PSM strategies to strengthen compliance.
• Collaborate with plant personnel and manage PSM audits.
• Develop process and equipment improvements for safety and efficiency.
• Lead incident investigations and preventive actions for ammonia systems.
• Develop KPIs and train staff to build safety culture.
