Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Sr. Distribution PSM Manager to lead our Process Safety Management program across locations, ensuring compliance and safety. You will drive strategies, manage audits, and champion employee awareness to protect people and processes.

Key responsibilities include developing PSM strategies, coordinating with auditors, improving processes and equipment, and leading root-cause analyses with a focus on ammonia refrigeration systems. Travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of PSM management responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• PSM Strategy & Compliance - Create, support, and implement strategies to strengthen PSM compliance across locations.
• Stay ahead of regulatory changes related to PSM and ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Collaboration & Oversight - Partner with plant personnel to manage all aspects of PSM and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with third-party PSM auditors for audits and reporting.
• Process & Equipment Excellence - Develop and recommend process/equipment improvements for safety and efficiency.
• Enforce PSM auditing schedules, PHA reviews, and Mechanical Integrity testing.
• Incident Response & Prevention - Lead root cause analysis and preventive actions; ensure contractors are trained for ammonia systems.
• Performance & Training - Develop KPIs and lead safety activities related to PSM and ammonia refrigeration.
