Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Senior Process-Mechanical/Chemical Engineer to design and lead utilities for semiconductor and advanced technology facilities in the California Bay Area or Oregon. You will oversee process piping, ultrapure water, gas storage, and wastewater treatment, guiding projects from concept through construction.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring a team of engineers, adherence to NFPA and Building Codes, and coordination with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer Stamp – Mechanical or Chemical (CA reciprocity required or willingness).
• 7+ years of design and construction experience in the AEC industry.
• Experience designing process systems for semiconductor, microelectronics, R&D, and clean rooms.
• Strong knowledge of Building and Mechanical Codes, NFPA and industry standards.
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revit, and MS Office.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage design projects in clean rooms, fabrication facilities, microelectronics, industrial R&D labs, and hospitals.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and process piping designs.
• Design high-purity water systems, gas storage/distribution, and hazardous wastewater treatment.
• Prepare technical specifications and datasheets for process equipment.
• Stamp and sign drawings, reports, specs, and calculations for authorities’ submission.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies for alignment and compliance.
• Provide construction administration support including submittals, RFIs, and site visits.
• Lead and develop a team of process engineers with mentorship and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards (NFPA, Building, Plumbing, Mechanical).
• Utilize Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Revit for design coordination.
• Drive client satisfaction through effective project execution and relationships.
