Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, seeks a Senior Process-Mechanical/Chemical Engineer for its Semiconductor and Advanced Technology Team in the California Bay Area or Oregon offices. You will lead design of utilities like ultrapure water, process cooling water, and bulk gas systems while guiding a team of engineers.

The role requires 7+ years in design/construction, a CA-eligible PE, and strong knowledge of NFPA and mechanical codes. Hybrid work with two in-office days is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineering Stamp – Mechanical or Chemical (CA or reciprocity).
• 7+ years of design and construction experience in the AEC industry.
• Experience leading process system design in a consulting engineering or A/E firm.
• Expertise in semiconductor, microelectronics, R&D, and clean room environments.
• Strong knowledge of Building/Mechanical Codes, NFPA, and related standards.
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Proficiency with Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revit, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage design projects in clean rooms, fabrication facilities, microelectronics, industrial R&D labs, and hospitals.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and process piping designs.
• Design high-purity water, gas storage and distribution, and hazardous wastewater systems.
• Prepare technical specs and datasheets for process equipment.
• Stamp and sign drawings, reports, specs for authorities submission.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulators for project alignment.
• Provide construction administration support including submittals, RFIs, and site visits.
• Lead and develop a team of process engineers with mentorship.
• Ensure compliance with codes and industry standards.
