Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle in Erlanger, KY is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to optimize line performance across packaging lines, driving OEE, reducing scrap, and managing changeovers.

You will lead continuous improvement projects and collaborate with Maintenance, R&D, Packaging, Production, Engineering, CI and Quality to deliver productivity gains. The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Packaging Engineering with 2–5 years of engineering experience, strong data analysis, and knowledge of IL6S tools.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Packaging Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years’ experience as an engineer, preferably with CPGs.
• 2-5 years’ experience leading packaging design or equipment installation.
• Knowledge of statistics, quality, TPM and production KPIs.
• Experience with packaging materials (corrugated, paperboard, films).
• Experience with VFFS, HFFS, flow wrapping, bottling lines.
• World Class Manufacturing/ TPM/ Lean/ Six Sigma preferred.
• Strong problem solving and data analysis; Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
• Proficient in cross-functional teamwork; mentoring skills a plus.
• Proficient Excel and MS Office; willingness to work shifts and travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and business expertise on manufacturing systems and data analysis.
• Lead KPI definition for packaging lines and improvement plans.
• Collect data, interpret results, and report recommendations to stakeholders.
• Lead commissioning and factory acceptance tests for new packaging designs.
• Lead line trials with packaging engineers for new materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with suppliers and maintenance to drive efficiency gains.
• Drive loss elimination and improve reliability using IL6S and DMAIC.
• Lead IL6S training and Kaizen improvements; own FI work processes.
• Understand department processes and performance metrics.
