Perfetti Van Melle in Loves Park, IL is seeking a Process Engineer to drive development and scale-up of new products, improve line performance, and reduce waste across manufacturing. You will collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, and supply chain teams in the U.S.

and globally. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5–10+ years of process or product engineering experience, and hands-on equipment commissioning, data analysis, and continuous improvement tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
• 5–10+ years in process or product engineering, preferably in food/manufacturing.
• Hands-on equipment commissioning, system optimization, and continuous improvement tools.
• Working knowledge of GMP, sanitation and regulatory standards.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Teams; relevant certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead product and process development from trials to production.
• Plan product trials, analyze data, and share clear recommendations.
• Commission and validate new equipment with Engineering and suppliers.
• Improve line efficiency, reduce waste, and boost reliability.
• Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory on recipes and labeling requirements.
• Translate results into reliable processes and set quality limits.
• Support troubleshooting in the plant and mentor colleagues.
