Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer for New Product Introduction to move products from lab to mass production. You’ll rapidly iterate to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance before market launch.

The role requires hands-on problem-solving across laser cutting, bonding, surface prep, and advanced data analysis. You’ll lead projects, manage timelines, and collaborate across design, materials, and hardware teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience in Mechanical/Systems/Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field.
• Ability to rapidly iterate and improve process methods to enhance throughput, yield, and reliability.
• Systems thinking to understand tradeoffs across multiple process steps.
• Experience with imaging/inline inspection, metrology, automation, or related technical areas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex data clearly.
• Statistically driven mindset for experiments, data interpretation, and data-backed decisions.
• Experience leading cross-functional hardware/software/manufacturing projects.
• Get-it-done attitude with resourcefulness in ambiguous challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering projects by defining scope, timelines, and presenting results across the organization.
• Identify and debug complex process issues, design experiments, and implement robust solutions.
• Collaborate with design, materials, and hardware teams to ensure design and functional constraints are met.
• Perform thorough root cause analysis on parts and processes.
• Present experimental results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Design and maintain inline inspection and data collection systems to monitor process stability.
• Develop post-processing techniques for novel geometries and materials.
• Champion long-term technical improvements for the manufacturing platform.
