Corning is seeking an engineer to reduce defects by eliminating root causes and to collaborate with suppliers to improve performance. You will apply DMAIC, designed experimentation, and Six Sigma methods to optimize processes across Corning facilities worldwide.

The role emphasizes improving cost, quality, uptime, yields, cycle time, and safety, with travel primarily within NC and up to 75% for project phases.

Qualifications

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree in chemical, materials, ceramic or mechanical engineering (master’s preferred).
• 3-5 years’ experience in engineering/manufacturing with a track record of solving process problems.
• Ability to apply engineering principles and practices to technical assignments.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making.
• Experience in manufacturing environments and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of new processes or improvements at Corning facilities worldwide.
• Lead and support solving problems and improving processes via fundamental understanding and structured methods.
• Champion Process Control and Process Discipline systems in manufacturing operations and analyze data with statistical tools.
• Measure and communicate performance, review data to guide actions, and document processes while mentoring peers.
