Corning Incorporated in Canton, NY is seeking a Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations. This full-time, onsite role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed and 5–10% travel for meetings, training, and supplier/customer visits. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ceramic, materials, chemical engineering, or a related engineering field.
• 10+ years of experience in technical, manufacturing, or process engineering roles.
• Demonstrated success leading process improvement initiatives and solving complex manufacturing problems in a production environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate technical issues, influence decisions, and drive action across functions.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production-focused environment.
• Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams, setting direction and driving execution through others.
• Experience working in a union manufacturing environment and leading cross-functional projects with capital impact.
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement initiatives to improve yield, quality, cost, and manufacturing performance.
• Identify strategic process and equipment limitations and develop robust, data-driven solutions with broad operational impact.
• Lead structured problem-solving efforts to identify root causes and implement sustainable improvements.
• Provide technical leadership for new product and process launches, raw material changes, and equipment design modifications.
• Analyze and interpret complex process data to develop action plans and priorities.
• Partner with production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to support daily manufacturing operations and long-term process capability.
• Provide technical direction on projects aligned with plant and business objectives.
• Influence prioritization of process, equipment, and capital improvement opportunities based on risk and value.
