The position offers exposure across multiple manufacturing sites, technologies, and business areas, focusing on ramp-ups, quality, and performance improvements. You will engage with suppliers, apply DMAIC, collect data, and mentor operators on processes to deliver measurable results

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, materials, ceramic, or mechanical engineering; master's preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on engineering or manufacturing experience with problem solving.
• Willingness to travel 50%+ domestically, with occasional international travel.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of new processes and improvements at Corning facilities.
• Collaborate with sites to reduce defects and improve process performance.
• Assist major initiatives such as plant startups, ramp-ups, and quality improvements.
• Apply structured problem solving (DES, Six Sigma, DMAIC) to drive improvements.
• Analyze process data with Pareto, regression, and ANOVA to guide decisions.
• Document procedures and mentor operators on processes.
