Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead boule forming and thermal process development at the Canton facility. You will work across manufacturing, engineering, and research to solve defect mechanisms and optimize manufacturability at scale.

You will guide cross‑functional teams, develop yield and cost models, and drive data‑driven decisions to improve product quality and efficiency. Remote or hybrid work may be possible based on responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, or related field).
• 8–12 years in specialty glass or high‑value manufacturing environments.
• Experience with custom or product-specific manufacturing processes.
• Leading root cause investigations for complex or unknown defect modes.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of boule forming and thermal processes.
• Drive root cause investigations into defect modes and identify failure mechanisms.
• Develop and implement process solutions to reduce defects and improve yield.
• Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate approaches and drive execution.
• Support process scale-up and equipment transitions.
• Evaluate new processing approaches and quantify feasibility.
• Develop yield models, cost analyses, and process tracking tools.
