Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking a seasoned process engineer to lead design work for chemical and biochemical processes at the Bessemer City site. You will perform comprehensive process designs, support safety initiatives, and contribute to PHA and RCAs while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of industrial experience, strong knowledge of P&ID development, mass and energy balances, and exposure to DCS/PLC systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering registration or CPIP certification highly preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical/petroleum/biochemical process design engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete designs for process engineering assignments under general supervision.
• Lead RCAs and identify preventive and corrective actions.
• Develop P&IDs and perform mass and energy balances on unit operations.
• Size pumps, exchangers, valves, and meters using process data.
• Support safety initiatives and participate in incident investigations.
• Contribute to process hazards analyses and PHA teams.
• Support capital projects and plant start-ups.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and manage project timelines.
