Job summary

Lam Research in Tualatin, OR is seeking a Process Engineer 6 - Epitaxy to drive cutting-edge semiconductor process development. You will develop new formulations, define equipment needs, and evaluate data to meet processing requirements, collaborating across teams and with customers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics with 12+ years of experience; or a PhD with 8+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with laboratory work and semiconductor equipment; experience in surface preparation and analytical techniques.
• Strong understanding of SPC and/or DOE; ability to analyze data and drive process improvements.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar scientific computing language; experience with statistical analysis and problem-solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct process engineering R&D and evaluation for Lam’s semiconductor equipment and systems.
• Review and improve processing techniques used in manufacture and fabrication of products.
• Develop and sustain new processes and process improvements to reduce costs and increase yields.
• Analyze test data and establish next steps in process development; define limits and variables for specifications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to plan, collect data, analyze results, and report on customer demos for existing processes.
• Engage with customers to understand roadmaps, process flow, inflection points, requirements, and challenges.
• Contribute to next-generation product development and release activities supporting the semiconductor roadmap.
• Provide leadership and guidance to process technicians to support execution activities.
• Lead projects selecting innovative concepts and approaches for process development.
