Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Process Engineer 3 in the Portland area to develop and optimize advanced deposition and etch processes for cutting-edge semiconductor equipment. You will lead process development, coordinate data-driven improvements, and support product roadmap execution.

You will apply expertise in materials science, chemical engineering, and analytical methods to drive yields, quality, and cost reductions while collaborating across global teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or related field with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD with no previous professional experience; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct process engineering research, development, and evaluation for Lam’s semiconductor equipment and systems.
• Review and enhance processing techniques for fabrication of products.
• Develop and sustain new processes and improvements to reduce costs and increase yields.
• Analyze test data to define steps in process development and determine limits and variables.
• Collaborate to plan, collect data, analyze results, and report on customer demos for existing processes.
• Contribute to next generation product development and release activities supporting the semiconductor roadmap.
• Provide leadership and guidance to process technicians to support execution activities.
