Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Process Engineer (Principal MFG Energetics/Energetics MFG Engineer) to support the Promontory, Utah plant. The role emphasizes safety, process development, and support across composites, machining, and coatings, acting as the primary contact for process issues.

The position may be filled at Level 2 or Level 3, with qualifications spanning from a B.S. in engineering to 5 years’ experience for higher levels.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering degree; related experience required.
• Master's degree preferred for higher-level roles and related work experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and instill a strong safety culture in daily operations.
• Develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes across composites, machining, rubber layup and molding, coatings, and complex assemblies.
• Serve as first line of support for operations and process-related issues.
• Perform root cause investigations to permanently eliminate defects.
