Job Description

Our new RTP facility will be one of Lilly’s most technologically advanced manufacturing sites, featuring robotic technologies and advanced data collection and analysis platforms to enhance safety, productivity, and process consistency. The Senior Process Engineer - Filling will support the RTP Site Engineering team in delivering and maintaining the Filling lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Support start-up activities related to aseptic filling, practices, and decontamination cycle validation.
• Investigate root causes related to Filling and process equipment issues.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist during audits and prepare necessary technical documentation.
• Lead continuous improvement projects and troubleshooting efforts.
• Provide technical support to technicians and mentorship to entry-level engineers.
• Monitor Asset Qualification of Filling Equipment and lead commissioning activities.
• Represent process engineering in global meetings and contribute technical insights.
• Ensure a safe working environment and participate in safety activities.
• Develop understanding of equipment and processes, including critical parameters and master formulas.
• Establish and monitor control systems for equipment performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in equipment startup, qualification, validation, and aseptic filling processes.
• Ability to apply statistical analysis and root cause analysis techniques.
• Strong computer skills (Excel, JMP, etc.).

Additional Information

• Position based onsite at Lilly RTP in Durham, NC, with some travel (<10%).
• Work schedule: 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and weekend support.
