Job summary

Hexion is seeking a Process Controls and Automation Manager to lead the COE, drive standardization, and support a distributed manufacturing network. You will directly guide control system architecture and hardware choices while remaining hands-on with design and troubleshooting.

You will oversee PCI/DCS/SIS upgrades, manage cross-functional alignment with Reliability, Operations, EHS, and IT, and champion safety and cybersecurity in a complex chemical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in chemical or electrical engineering.
• Ten or more years of experience building, programming, and supporting industrial control systems, including plant experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of engineers or technical specialists within a matrix environment.
• Hands-on depth in Rockwell PLC, MES, data historian, and Emerson DeltaV platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Process Control and Automation COE group, setting priorities and delivering site support across the region.
• Develop and maintain process controls standards and protocols for equipment, instrumentation, and documentation.
• Serve as SME for instrument and control activities, communicating with technicians and leadership.
• Design and specify instrument and control equipment on capital and maintenance projects.
• Manage SIS, DCS, and PLC reliability and software upgrade programs across assets.
• Oversee safety instrumentation system documentation and compliance with standards.
• Support troubleshooting during incidents and start-ups, providing immediate direction.
• Coordinate with Reliability, Operations, EHS, and IT to align control practices with plant goals.
