Broadcom Inc. in San Jose seeks a Senior Probe Hardware Design & Validation Engineer to own the lifecycle of custom probe architectures—from initial modeling to production issue debugging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of hands-on experience focused on probe card design, vertical/MEMS probes, or high-performance test fixture development.
• Strong hands-on experience using VNAs, TDR, and scopes to analyze SI and PI performance; production wafer prober or singulated die prober with ATE is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical and electrical architecture of advanced probe cards and PCB; ensure SI/PI performance through impedance control and proper decoupling.
• Develop test strategies and lab execution using VNAs, TDR, oscilloscopes; analyze probe wear, burn, and planarity issues and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with external probe card vendors and internal teams to align with product roadmaps and test floor requirements.
