Job summary

PitchBook, a Morningstar company, seeks an expert in private markets indexing to bridge Morningstar Indexes and PitchBook Institutional Research Group. You will author notes, explainers, and thematic research, while representing the index platform at industry events and with institutional clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years’ experience in private markets research, index or benchmark research, investment research, performance measurement, or related field.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the private markets and indexing expert bridging Morningstar Indexes and PIRG.
• Author analyst notes, methodology explainers, and thematic research on private market benchmarking.
• Represent the index franchise at conferences, client events, webinars, and media engagements.
• Engage directly with institutional clients to understand benchmarking needs and gaps.
• Coordinate with Morningstar index team and PitchBook stakeholders on roadmap and changes.
• Educate teams on index methodology, positioning, and use cases through materials.
• Contribute to design, testing, and launch of new index families.
• Monitor competitive landscape and translate findings into roadmap recommendations.
• Support company vision and participate in initiatives.
