Job summary

IQ-EQ in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced fund accounting professional to support private equity and hedge fund clients under seasoned guidance. You will manage complex allocations, journal entries, capital calls, and waterfall calculations, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

The role emphasizes leadership and mentorship of junior staff, process improvements, and collaboration with auditors and tax teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in private equity, public accounting, or related asset investment roles.
• Strong analytical and technical accounting skills for alternative investments.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; proven success leading high-performing teams.
• Consistently delivers high-quality, detail-oriented work under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Investran, Excel, QuickBooks, Outlook, Word; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Support client leads across multiple Private Equity funds; align deliverables with LP agreements and client expectations.
• Manage and review complex financial components: journal entries, investor allocations, capital calls/distributions, fees and carried interest, waterfall models.
• Oversee preparation and delivery of financial statements, disclosures, schedules, and investor notices; coordinate with auditors and tax teams.
• Assess and enhance operational processes; handle routine and ad-hoc client requests; prioritize tight deadlines.
• Train and mentor junior team members, fostering development while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
