BDO USA in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a Tax Manager for Private Client Services to lead tax compliance and consulting for high net-worth clients. You will leverage your education, experience, and people skills to manage engagements, supervise staff, and develop client relationships.

The role emphasizes technical tax knowledge, leadership, and business development within a boutique PCS practice that serves individuals, families, and executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA, EA, or attorney credentials (or equivalent) required or in process.
• Five+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or law, with public accounting or private client services experience preferred.
• Experience with tax compliance and consulting for high net-worth clients.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and tax software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax and consulting engagements for high net-worth clients.
• Gather information from clients and advisors to prepare tax returns.
• Review returns for individuals, trusts, estates, S-corps, foundations, partnerships, and gifts.
• Direct communication with government agencies on complex matters.
• Perform advanced tax research and provide recommendations to PCS leadership.
• Develop and expand knowledge through client engagements and tax developments.
• Lead and mentor staff and interns; oversee workload and performance feedback.
• Support business development and PCS/firm initiatives, including billing and training.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and external sources.
